It has always been important to take care of our mental health, by pay attention to what we allow ourselves to meditate on (think about) day to day, but if there were ever a time to be keenly aware of our mental health it is now. With all the racial injustices, Covid-19 crisis, and reports still coming in from the CDC stating that communities of color are still becoming infected and dying at a disproportionately higher rate than other communities we must be diligent in the ways we care for ourselves, our families, and our communities. I recently read a post that stated,” self-care is a priority not a luxury,” and while there are many ways to practice self-care, many of us struggle to find simple self-care routine that fit our busy lifestyles. I would like to challenge you to find at least one mindful care practice to add to your weekly routine or share some of the positive things you are doing currently to keep yourselves grounded and healthy, mind, body, spirit, and soul.
